Solyndra Points to Ponder

The Solyndra loan guarantee was a multi-year process that the Bush Administration launched in 2007.

The Bush team tried to conditionally approve the Solyndra loan just before President Obama took office.

The loan guarantee has been attacked as being political in nature. What critics don’t mention is that one of the earliest and largest investors, Madrone Capital Partners, is funded by the family that started Wal-Mart, the Waltons. The Waltons have donated millions of dollars to Republican candidates over the years.Clean Technica (http://s.tt/13giD)

March 2011: Republican Representatives complain that DOE funds are not being spent quickly enough.

The Solyndra deal started under the Bush Administration, which tried to conditionally approve the loan right before Obama took office. Rather than “pushing funds out the door too quickly,” the Obama Administration restructured the original loan when he came into office to further protect the taxpayers’ investment.

The $535 million loan is only 1.3% of DOE’s loan portfolio. To date, Solyndra is the only loan that’s known to be troubled.

The infrastructure problems can very easily be overcome. I have a plan that will not cost the public and will create thousands of jobs. All of the Western countries are putting the infrastructure in place for hydrogen fueled vehicles. California is one of a few states that is actively pursuing the installation of hydrogen stations statewide.
Meanwhile Honda and I believe Toyota have home units to create hydrogen refuel the vehicles. Most of the states and many of the city governments as well as the utility companies have hydrogen vehicles on loan that have been provided by companies like Honda, Toyota, GM, Ford, Mercedes. There are a host of hydrogen fueled city buses servicing cities like Stockton, CA..

If we replaced half of the gas engines with hydrogen fueled engines we would reverse the warming trend almost overnight. When we first started taking oil out of the ground it had very little impact on the environment. Now we have reached a tipping point and every barrel of crude taken out of the ground has a major impact on the environment. What was good yesterday is not necessarily good today.
Where wind and solar will only lessen our dependence on oil, hydrogen fuel cells will eliminate our dependence on oil and repair the damage done to our environment by gasoline engines and industrial pollutants.jonymor@yahoo.com

US soldier kills 16 Afghans

Our military does to little in teaching religious tolerance. We have had a string of losses in dealing with Islamic countries from Viet Nahm to Iraq and Afghanistan. Although we claim victory in those countries, we only won the opportunity to provide monetary support after we left. There was no political or human rights change won in any of those countries.
The biggest drag on our ability to win in Islamic countries is our ingrained belief that Christianity is the only true religion coupled with the fact that most Christians are ignorant as to what Christianity is. Christians seem to think that if they read the Koran that some monster would envelope them and steal their religion when in fact the major difference between the two religions is the manner in which they pray and the importance that they ascribe certain aspects which both religions have in common.
Just as you have John, Luke and Mathew describing Jesus in the New Testament, you have The Tora, The Bible and The Koran describing a common religion.
We will always have those that hate just because someone is different, but our military can head off some of these events (U.S. soldier kills 16 Afghan civilians) by teaching and making religious tolerance classes mandatory before deployment to Islamic countries. Maybe then we could win enough to make the sacrifice worth the cost in American lives.
