Outsourcing Is Good For America: Cato’s Michael Tanner

That makes as much sense as pouring gasoline on a fireworks fire. Not all Americans have the skills for high tech jobs and those 400,000 service jobs bring in money to support the high tech industry and they  keep  most of those 400,000 off government assistance.
What we need is government regulations that prevent merchandise from U.S. companies that outsource from re-entering the U.S. market.

In Obama era, have race relations improved?

I asked President Obama, Secetary of State Clinton, and Attorney General Holder for help in a clearly race related matter where I was forced to accept a Bad Conduct Discharge from the Navy because I went up against the KKK to help some white sailors that did not want to be recruited by the KKK. The end result of my efforts was the murder of two pilots that tried to help me expose the KKK presence at NAS San Diego. Neither Obama, Clinton or Holder has responded to my letters.

The best thing for the country is to let the tax cuts expire. I do not believe that enough Democratic Congressmen and Senators stand up for what is right for the country.

Outsourcing our manufacturing jobs sent a message to the younger generation in the U.S., why go to school if all of jobs are overseas. It's good that the jobs are coming back to the U.S., but it will take some time and dedication for us to regain our competitive edge. As a veteran and an OG, I realize the importance of domestic manufacturing to our national security as well as our economic security and I support all efforts to bring manufacturing jobs back to the U.S. including rescinding all economic benefits, taxing and penalizing companies that choose to outsource.

Solyndra Points to Ponder

The Solyndra loan guarantee was a multi-year process that the Bush Administration launched in 2007.

The Bush team tried to conditionally approve the Solyndra loan just before President Obama took office.

The loan guarantee has been attacked as being political in nature. What critics don’t mention is that one of the earliest and largest investors, Madrone Capital Partners, is funded by the family that started Wal-Mart, the Waltons. The Waltons have donated millions of dollars to Republican candidates over the years.Clean Technica (http://s.tt/13giD)

March 2011: Republican Representatives complain that DOE funds are not being spent quickly enough.

The Solyndra deal started under the Bush Administration, which tried to conditionally approve the loan right before Obama took office. Rather than “pushing funds out the door too quickly,” the Obama Administration restructured the original loan when he came into office to further protect the taxpayers’ investment.

The $535 million loan is only 1.3% of DOE’s loan portfolio. To date, Solyndra is the only loan that’s known to be troubled.
