Japanese Companies to Build 100 Hydrogen Stations by 2015
A group of Japanese oil, gas and car companies have committed to put in place the infrastructure needed to run hydrogen fuel cell vehicles by 2015; fuel cell cars are intended for commercialisation by a number of automakers, including Toyota, Nissan and Honda within that timeframe.
JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corp, Idemitsu Kosan Co and Tokyo Gas Co. are working alongside the automakers in the scheme and intend to begin negotiations with regional governments to develop infrastructure in Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka by 2015.
